Marquetry Walnut longcase clock


The eight day duration movement with inside count wheel striking the hours on a bell. The square brass dial with separate silvered brass chapter ring and seconds ring, with a matted center with ringed winding and seconds holes. The square date aperture surrounded with scrolled engraving and three five pointed crowns, the spandrels with cherub faces. The very long completely inlaid trunk door with lenticle. Foliate interlocking inlay to the door, trunk and plinth. The plinth with floral basket inlay, standing on bun feet. The hood with square door and barley twist columns to the front and rear, side glasses and blind fret above the door.

A rare and fine quality extensively inlaid mahogany longcase clock. The eight day duration movement striking the hours on a bell. The arched brass dial with separate silvered brass chapter ring and delicately engraved foliate center showing seconds and date. Makers name shown in the arch, flanked by Dolphin spandrels. The fine mahogany case with long trunk door and Sheraton style foliate inlay, a Satinwood oval center field of a maiden with garland depicting Spring, flanked by half brass mahogany reeded columns with exquisite cast brass Corinthian Capitals. The upper and lower portion of the trunk with Chinese Chippendale carved frets. The decorative base with half reeded canted corners, standing on ogee bracket feet, the raised front panel of Satinwood borders and a Satinwood oval center with exquisite gadrooned Sheraton style urn. The hood with half brass mahogany reeded columns to the front and rear with fine quality Corinthian capitals and sound frets to the sides. A blind fret between the arch and swan neck pediment with carved mahogany paterae.

A mid 18th Century fine quality Scottish Longcase clock.

The eight day duration movement striking the hours on a bell. The arched brass dial with raised chapter ring and silvered seconds and date dials, an arched boss with makers name and foliate spandrels. The flame mahogany case with long door flanked by half reeded columns terminating in carved triple feather capitals, Boxwood and Ebony inlay with Sheraton corner spandrels. A plain base with round mahogany center panel with Sheraton corner spandrels standing on Bracket feet. The hood with striped Boxwood and Ebony inlay turned Mahogany and Ebony inlaid columns with brass capitals, the swan neck top with brass paterae and central brass finial.
