Clocks have fascinated David Walter from early in his life.
After leaving school he gained employment with a watchmaker, and on completion of
a six-year apprenticeship that aroused his interest in this craft he found himself in
England where he worked for the prestigious Crown Jewelers- Garrard & Co. Regent
Street, in Londons West End.Three years later, David was in Vienna, Austria, employed
by the Omega Watch Company. Here he enhanced his skills for eight years, but deep
inside a yearning had begun calling out to himto do something beyond the drudgery of
mass production repairs. In the evenings, David was putting efforts into restoring
antique pocket watches for private collectors.The skills he has learned in the restoration
of fine antique pocket watches led to the creation of the David Walter Collection
of Timepieces.After spending some time at his premises in his native Perth, Western
Australia, David is now firmly established in California, a short drive north from
Los Angeles in Buellton, in the beautiful wine-growing region of the Santa Ynez Valley,
Santa Barbara County. From here he offers collectors and connoisseurs a selection of
some of the finest timepieces available.Examples include pieces from the Queen
Anne, Georgian, Regency, and Victorian period English longcase clocks and
barometers. Continental European wall and mantelpiece timepieces.Viennese and
Viennese style regulators including the sought after Grande Sonneries in the finest
mahogany, walnut and rosewood cases.An exceptional collection of carriage
clocks.All examples are sold in the finest condition, after being restored
employing workmanship and materials of the highest standards. David also carries out
expert restoration and repair work of these works of art for collections and
